    Quick question
NCT today and the hubcaps are the ones where the wheel nuts are visable.
Don't have to take them off do I?
    I can't remember

Should be fine if they are visible but if in doubt, take em off. Will only take you a few seconds and will give you one less thing to worry about.

Make an inspection of each part of the road wheel, paying particular attention to whether there is:
    (a) any fracture of flanges.
    (b) any welding breaking away.
    (c) any wheel badly distorted.
    (d) any stud hole badly worn.
    (e) any wheel stud missing.
    (f) any wheel nut missing.
    (g) any wheel nut loose.
    (h) any wheel spokes missing or loose.
    2. Check that the correct type of wheel and wheel nut is fitted.

    Best remove just in case.

My old Sei went through with hubcaps like that, not a thing said. Same with the other Sei.

So once they're visible then no you can leave them on

Mrs. Goose's Citroen Xsara has plastic hubcaps that are held on by the wheel-studs themselves, the latter being quite visible and accessible. Never needed to take 'em off for the NCT.

If it has hubcaps take them off regardless, you might get some asshole so who will just tell you to head off and have them removed.

    From the NCT website;
"How can I best prepeare for the NCT ?
4 The wheel hubcaps are removed (only in the case where the wheel nuts are not visible) and the tyres are inflated to the correct pressure."

Exactly if nuts are visible then no need to take them off.
