Got my engagement ring in Antwerp 4 years ago and would highly recommend it. We bought from phillippe Harold.
    http://www.philippe-harold-jewellers.be/home.htm
I discussed my budget and what I could get per email before I arrived and then didn't need to waste time when I got there. Just chose the stone and then the setting. We did leave however without the ring and it was couriered to us wIthin a week or so I think. He only opens mon to fri and you need to book an appointment. However there are many other jewellers too.
I got the ring valued here and it was worth c.3 times what we paid for it. Highly recommend him however i recommed you do a bit of research as to what you want and the budget. Good luck. Antwerp is a lovely place.

Do you mind me asking what your budget was. I am considering going over at Christmas but don't want to pay for flights etc if the rings are out of my price range (which is about €3k-€3.5k)

Best thing to do is email a couple of jewellers and tell them your budget. They have something for everyone.

we went to joe katz in antwerp, very easy to deal with and if you have cash even better. organised about 4 different appointments with jewellers and found him the best. had the ring and stones after 24 hours. spent 4.5k valued at about 6k.
Antwerp is the most beautiful city i have been to, loved it. we stayed in Britselei serviced apartments, walking distance to diamond district and absolutely 5 star.
enjoy - antwerp well worth a visit

Haven't been, bought mine here, but whatever you do, use a credit card. A mate of mine bought his there with cash, long story short he had to go back to get it fixed, guy was completely unreasonable and wanted to charge €250 for fixing it and said it would take a week.

With a visa card you can ring up and cancel and its insured.

Try Manchester as well, good deals. Also my two cents try some of the diamond brokers in Ireland.

I am currently dealing with Philippe Harold. He has offered me a .90 Carat F SI1 with the ring and it works out at 6 grand ring is 1G. It seems a bit expensive. Can anyone let me know what they got for their money of him.

Slightly different speck to yours but my ring was a .80carat, round brilliant cut, G, VS2, no florescence, total weight was 1.25 carat. Cost just over €4k in Ireland.

    Hi Blingy & Beertons

I have been emailing Philippe over the last couple of weeks and I have decided on a design (I have seen a ring here in ireland the saMe design but a lot more expensive) my question is would you recommend that I travel over to see the ring before I buy. What is the after sale service like? Philippe has said he will ship it over fully insured. I am nervous about buying it without seeing it.

    Thank you

Through emails over and back I decided on the value cut colour etc of diamond we could afford and then went over to Antwerp to actually pick the diamond and decide on ring and setting. We paid then and there and got the ring about 3 weeks later via courier. We were very happy with price and service. It's about 4 years ago now. I have read more recent reviews of people that were dissatisfied but I suppose that's bound to happen. No one can decide for you but that's my story.

    Hi Blingy

Thanks for the reply I guess you still pick out the stones and setting but don't see the finished product until it arrives at your door.
Did you have any issues after you got the ring with sizes etc? What kind of an after sales service is on offer?

    Thank you

We didn't need any after sales service. I got the ring and was blown away by it. Absolutely love it. Fitted perfectly. Couldn't have bought it for the same price in dublin.

If it's a ring he has in stock, and you like it, you don't need to go over. If you are designing a ring, picking out the diamond, etc, then yes, you need to go over. We had it posted over too. Job done. Will definately go back, for the eternity ring or what not. What after sales are you looking for?
