Dirty Board.

Well i had enough of my darts falling out of the board and breaking stems so the Eclipse pro of little over a year old is for the Dump.I know people on here say they are a great board and its the fact that the ones Argos sells are below standard and that they cant be that bad as the PDC players use them.Well that doesnt hold any water for me' as before the pdc was formed most pro Games where played on Winmau or Nodor boards' plus the fact that the pdc change the board after every game' Somone correct me if im wrong on that.Anyway i will not have another on my wall.

I was looking at either a Nodor supamatch or a blade 4' Incidentally Nodor actually make the Winmau boards also. I then remembered I had an old board in my parents Shed that didnt see much play' so I called around and it was still on the wall.It was a bit dirty and black with coal dust ect..So I took it home and started to wash it with hot soapy water' to cut a long story short i made the white/cream patches on the board actually worse by washing it and they are very dirty looking.I was wondering if anyone has any method to Clean a board.i was thinking along the lines of touching the board up with permanent markers..Would this work..? the Board is a Winmau masters and it is a pleasure to play on although I find it a bit harder to score on than the stable free board and im getting the odd bounce out which is to be expected. But I know this board will take a lot of playing as it was built to last and it will keep me ticking over until i purchase a new one.Its just filthy looking.

I remember reading somewhere a good while ago about using a wood polish on boards, never tried it tho as I usually keep a board up until it's falling apart. Never had a problem with an eclipse or eclipse pro to be honest. Heard complaints about the blade 4 being too tightly packed, lighter darts not piercing the fibre enough and falling on the floor.

I'm using a Target Pro Tour board at the moment. Same thin wiring as the eclipse pro's, and very well made.

Argos's boards are s#ite tho, I import and sell darts equipment and have not yet got a poor eclipse pro. I'd recommend a Target Pro Tour if you've lost faith in the Unicorn boards.

i had an eclipse pro board up for the guts of 2 years. it was still in good nick when i gave it away but it was time for a new board.
got a pro target board and its doing the job very well.

i wouldn't go near argus for a board. and a mate had a blade 4 that just fell apart.
