Good quality hi spec mineral. Licking clay is iron, eating stones Phos, usually

Basic mineral buckets out will stop eating clay in about a week.

Yes it has all the hall marks of a mineral problem but never seen a animal do it here before and all dry cows are on a hi spec mineral before they calve.Gave her a dose of liqui-thrive wondering is it enough though.

I have a week old PB Charolais calf licking clay, surely it couldn't be lacking iron already. The mother looks fine, clean coat, calved and cleaned no problem??

iron would be my guess. Ive heard pregnant mothers licking brickwork, which is basically processed clay i think, so id say that it could translate into cows
