Mens Mountain Bike

I'm looking to buy a men's mountain bike for my boyfriend with a limit of €100 (can maybe stretch a little but only if it's a very good deal). Where should I look? I've checked out adverts but are there any other places? Do normal bike shops sell second hand bikes and are places like Eurocycles worth a look?

TBH €100 wont get much of a bike try Halfords...you could get a nice bike on the bike to work scheme through your work too..

Thanks for the reply, I'm really just looking for the basics with it- it'll only be used short distances and on road (at 33 it'll be the first bike he's ever owned :pac:). Essentially a starter kit to get him going
I was in Halfords today and never thought to ask, will head back up tomorrow and check. Do they do 2nd hand bikes?

Halfords don't do second hand bikes. You'll have to check out the likes of adverts.ie or donedeal. If he's only planning on using it on the road get a hybrid bike the cheap mountain bikes are just heavy and the fork suspension is useless.

For your budget you'll either be buying a fixer upper or a pretty low spec bike. Ask around your mates facebook etc there's always someone who bought a bike with the best of intentions and would rather have €100 in their pocket now.

I'm assuming he can actually cycle a bike
