I am surprised there isnt a thread here already like this but i think its a good idea to put a thread up for people who want to get rid of old shrubs, plants perennials or whatever or folks who may want to swap plants. i know that personally i will take anything and everything because my garden is big and i want to fill it up. i currently have an over abundance or huneysuckle cuttings for instance. i dont need them all so i am sure people propagate a lot of plants and have surplus. maybe a sticky or something like that. mods what do you reckon?

just below a leaf node cut at an angle on new growth. remove bottom few leaves and dip in rooting powder. cover with half a two litre 7 up bottle and leave for about 4 weeks. dont be tempted to check it. also water it if it looks to be drying out.

I'm surprised there isn't a service to take away our grass cuttings. Surely this could be given to farmers, after the fodder crisis I hope someone thinks of it.

The grass cuttings sounds like a good idea - not that the original post isn't - but on Countrywide radio programme a few weeks back it was mentioned and a vet rang in to say dog poo was often a feature of grass cuttings and as it was dangerous to cattle or sheep (or maybe both - I can't remember) he thought it was not a good idea to arrange depots.

What part of the country is that in?

Nothing here in Limerick, you have to pay to get rid of it, seems like a waste to me

Wouldn't work am afraid as the farmer/animal owner would need to trust this feed has No Pesticides .... AFAIK 3 months needs to have passed for some selective herbicides (Weedkillers) for grass to be safe for animal feeding

I see, that makes sense. A lot of people do put down moss killer etc.
