    FW-8nz0bdPshPToLU21XTgoxQLybn4P9RNg8wnHyW3BMs9DTkqjLNnv8IC2NkVdTi_SV=w124

Device needs to be rooted to use the camouflage (hide app) features. But apart from that, everything else works.

It says in the description that this is a free weeks trial, but i saw on another forum, that they (cerberus) had had problems.
They weren't expecting the high demand. So they have that statement in the description, but when you sign up, you get an email telling you that you have it free for life.
I did it and got the email.
Cerberus is a complete anti-theft application, the best protection you can get to recover your misplaced, lost or stolen Android device. This is a free trial for one week, then you can buy a lifetime license for a small price (2.99€) from within the application: no monthly or yearly fees, just a one-time payment. License is associated to your Cerberus account, if you have multiple devices you can use all of them (up to 5) with the same account. It has three ways to protect your device:
    - Remote control through the website www.cerberusapp.com
    - Remote control via text messages
    - SIM Checker (for devices that have a SIM card): you will automatically receive alerts if someone uses your phone with an unauthorized SIM card
Remote control allows you to perform many operations on your device, like:
    - Locate and track it
    - Start a loud alarm, even if the device is set to silent mode
    - Wipe the internal memory and the SD card
    - Hide Cerberus from the app drawer
    - Lock the device with a code
    - Record audio from the microphone
    - Get a list of last calls sent and received
    - Get information about network and operator the device is connected to
    - And much more!

    LINK - CERBERUS ANTI THEFT

After you signup you should get this email.
    Hi,

The license for your "*************" Cerberus account has been activated for free, thanks to a promotion in collaboration with AppGratis.

Every day AppGratis offers one free app (plus discounts up to 90% off), hand-picked and reviewed by their team to make sure of their high quality.
Check out their app for great deals, it's free: http://bit.ly/13kIkk2

Please open Cerberus on your device and log in to access the app settings, you should not see the "Buy license" option anymore. This means that the lifetime license for your account is active.

    Have a great day!

    The Cerberus and AppGratis teams

You have to wait for the 2nd email.

It is normally a free Weeks Trial. But today, they are doing a deal with AppGratis, and giving it away.

So, you still get told it's a week trial. But then you get the AppGratis Email.

  • Am I right that you have to install an app called AppGratis first and then Cerberus? Might want to add that to the OP. I installed Cerberus first!! ooops!!!

I only installed Cerberus and still got the free licence email. (It was in my junk mail though so be sure to check there)

Yeah I installed Cerberus first too and got no follow up email.

No big deal as it seems like it is WELL worth €2.99 so i'll pay for it.

  • Got that magic "free for life" email too. Took quite a while to create an account though. I kept getting a "check your internet blah blah" message. I can only assume that most of the Android-using Western World is availing of today's offer and overloading things? "She canne take no more of this Cap'n!!!!!!"

No. But Appgratis probably isn't a bad app to have anyway, as it gives a free app a day (Or heavily discounted.)
    The promotion ends in 13hours.

They are having problems right now with their server.
Tons of people trying to connect at once, so they have said expect problems at first.

I had to login over 10 times for my Nephew's phone. I should have just signed him up to mine.

    Brilliant find op!
Tell me this though what happens if someone gets your phone and just un-installs the app?

Thanks for this, just installed Cerberus and got the free activation.

I think you can set it so it can't be uninstalled without a password.

Yep, and i think you can set it to photograph them when they try to uninstall it.
Also when they put in an unathourised SIM card it texts you... :)

Pretty cool. I'm just about to pick my phone up and mess about with it properly.

That's correct. I paid for this app and have had it for quite a while. It is worth the money so definitely worth it for no money.
You can log in and track the phone location on a Google map, wipe the phone and/or SD card, send a message to appear on the phone if you lose it or remote lock it.
I encountered a bug and reported it and was sent an updated version the same day remedying the issue I reported so am very happy with it.

Or have the phone 'read' a message out loud.

Yeah, but it's always nice to put a face to the wanker that robbed your phone, for the imaginery fights you'll be having with them. :D

The only issue I'd see with this is you can get around it by simply flashing another ROM on to the phone which is very easy to do in most cases :(

Is that what happens with the phones that are robbed and exported to other countries (according to some sensationalist rubbish i read somewhere)?

My thinking is that if someone is going to flash another rom then at least they have probably wiped all your data?

    Any ideas?

  • They're experiencing problems with all the people trying to sign up.

Had this happen several times it's just due to heavy traffic. Keep trying till you get in

Yeah, i was getting that on 3G. Eventually managed to get in and set it up. Can't seem to get onto their web page though at all. Probably just give it a day or two until the rush dies down.

  • Yeah but in a few hours the freebie offer is over isn't it? If you wait "a day or two" it'll be a massive €2.99. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

I think it's a custom release of the app which was put on Google Play today (last updated date is June 6th). They'll just upload the old release when the offer is over.

Hopefully the version we downloaded today can be activated when their servers are back up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

    Working now. Great find, OP.

Been meaning to purchase this for a while. Downloaded and got the offer, cheers OP!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,002 ✭✭✭Seedy Arling

It switches on the wifi on your phone and searches for known networks, even if you have wifi disabled. Bad for battery perhaps.

Fantastic and frightening. Could James Bond ask for a more comprensive phone spy kit ?
Your password falling into the wrong hands here could be a disaster and a half.

I'm still awfully impressed and I love it though!

    Thanks OP.

Had this app for ages but never set it up until today. Took several goes but got it eventually.

Keep the bargains coming they've been great!

What advantage does this app have over the likes of the free Lookout?

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lookout

Okay so they're both rated 4.5, but this has 1M+ downloads, whilst Lookout has 10M+ downloads.

Cerberus is similar to Lookout premium, the latter being $30 per year.

    Are you sure?
Lookout free has remote tracking, alarms and wipe etc. Lookout premium only adds Safe Browsing and Privacy Advisor.

From my understanding from their website, you can only remote wipe and lock it with the premium version.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,541 ✭✭✭Dudda

Haven't read the whole thread but encase this isn't mentioned if you had this installed before but and your free trial has expired you can login to the desktop site, delete your account, reinstall the app and then register again with the same username and email to get the free full version.

Thanks to the op for this thread

Yep downloaded it and set up an account,
2 emails came through 1 in my Junk mailbox
    saying free lifetime licence.

    Nice one OP!

Just had a closer look at Lookout. You can track your phone with the free version. Remote wipe and Lock it down are premium.

Was having trouble registering yesterday, the same 'checkyour connection' messages as above.
I've just registered 10 minutes ago, and got the magic 2nd email. So, it's still active if people want ti :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,087 ✭✭✭paddydriver

Thanks OP, got Cerberus installed yesterday.

Anyone on a Samsung S3, S4 etc would be able to use the inbuilt Samsung findmymobile and this has remote wipe and sim card change alerts.

Have had Lookout installed a while too and the free version has other features such as app scanning. Can't see need to get the premium though.

Just concerned running all these extra processes will slow down the phone.
