    Hi all.
Just want to get some advice.
I just received my PDE results yesterday and I am over the moon to say I am now a teacher!! :D But now the work really begins to obtain some form of a teaching job for the coming academic year.

I have half my teaching council registration done (was able to start it earlier this year through university )and am now just awaiting my university to forward my results to the teaching council to finish my registration.

There are a few jobs relating to my subject areas being advertised at the moment but since I do not have my teaching council registration number I cannot apply as my application will most likely see the bin without having my number.

What I am wondering is - would there be any point applying anyway, provide proof of my PDE results with my application and say pending teaching council number?

Thanks in advance for any feedback ye may have

standard to get applications awaiting registration unless its someone who has been teaching years and its obvious they write this every year but don't actually register. Go for it, no school should discount you on that basis alone

P.S> Some schools require proof of application so copy that and send it in

    Thanks.
I asked the principal of the school I did my placement in this year would he accept an application without completed registration. He said only if it was accompanied with a letter from the Teaching Council to say registration is underway.

    So that's my next step.

Did the Teaching Council provide you with a letter to acknowledge the process is underway?

Aye, that's what I have been including but apparently that's not enough for some schools. Bah, it'll do. I was just curious as to what the TC said when they looked for one from them.

The 'pending' is enough to tell them very little experience, which may be one of the criteria they are rejecting the application on, not the TC registration status.
