    Hi
Received the following email from Eircom this morning.  Is this genuine?

    Dear xxxxxxxxxxxxx

To save server resources and provide everyone with free webmail hosting service we regularly remove inactive accounts.

Our automated checking system has dedected your account and flaged it so webelieve it is inactive.

But, if your are the owner of this account, and you would like to continueusing our services, you can protect your account against termination by logging on to your account at

    https://secure.eircom.net/email/

And if you do not need this account, do not respond to this email and your account will be removed/suspended in 7 days.

We are sorry for any inconveniences and thanks for using our services!

the spelling errors have me questioning if this is not some sort of spam or worse?

Can you clarify whether this email is genuine or not please?
