No. As you say, its freely available over the counter. Why would you have a problem? Are you short?!? Stand on a box, maybe?

Legal discussion is next door. Are you really asking about importation of a controlled substance? You'll have no problem buying Valium in Thailand. As you say, it's freely available.

Well actually I was told no in a few places in Bangkok before and that I needed a prescription. In somewhere like Koh Samui there will be no issue. Don't forget to haggle.

I suffer from PTSD and panic attacks and I've also lived in Thailand. You need a prescription to get valium, xanax, and the like. You can also get into trouble if caught in possession of these types of prescription meds without a proper sticker on the packet to show that they have been prescribed by a doctor. Usually it will mean just paying a "fine" to the police.

You will get some pharmacies that will sell them to you without a prescription but they will just charge more but it will add up to about the same as the prescribed ones plus the doctors visit payment. Also they would probably be counterfeit.

I closed your thread here because firstly: your question has been answered; but secondly also, this is not suitable to our Travel forum.

    Thanks,
