Whole Grain or Whole Wheat brown bread?

    Well wheat is a grain, and I think most bread is made of wheat flour. So maybe these are the same thing?

    I'd say if different they're equally fattening, and would both be mostly carbs

    Same calorie count. However the more complex the food. (whole grain) the slower the energy is released leaving you feel fuller longer resulting in fewer hunger pangs and thus helping in weight loss.

    As I said though - If wheat is a grain (it is)

    Therefore whole wheat must also be whole grain? surely?

    Whole grain uses all of the grain, i.e. the bran and endosperm and all. Whole wheat just means 100% wheat, it is more refined as it only contains the endosperm.

    In terms of real practical difference if you're consuming one over the other I'd say not much tbh.

    They're both equally as bad.

    I know that's what you meant. That's why I said 'avoid the usual healthy alternatives'.

    IMO there is no such thing as a healthy bread, unless you make it yourself and it contains coconut flour as apposed to any regular flour.

    Anyone know if I use my regular brown bread recipe, subbing coconut flour where the brown would be - what would the outcome be?
    Don't want to waste the coconut flour you see.
    Has anyone tried this?

    Probably wouldn't work.

    Look up coconut flour recipes. There's loads out there.

    I made this before just out of curiosity. Worked and tasted pretty decent.
