You don't have to check in online with Aer Lingus (and it's not actually possible to check in online for departure from some airports), they could just go to the airport and check in at the counter.

You can only do the check in 30 hours before the flight so sit tight until then, they won't need to be with you (you can just email them on the passes to print) You don't have to pay extra for seats unless you want a certain one.

Then they'll have the hassle of finding somewhere to print the passes - just go to the airport, find the check-in desk handling the flight and check-in. This isn't Ryanair remember.

Hey guys, similar question from me. I've printed my boarding pass for first flight tomorrow but haven't for the flight back obviously. Can i just go to the airport on the way home and go to the desk, give in a booking ID, and that will be sufficient? I won't have to pay any surcharges or anything?

Yeah, just go to the desk and check in there. Aer Lingus don't charge extra for that.

    yup, theres no charges.
Normally checkin at the desk is only possible abroad at the earliest 2 1/2 hours before the flight.

As already advised, you can do that and it will cost you nothing extra with Aer Lingus.

But if you have access to the internet on the last day of your holiday, you can check-in for the flight beginning 30 hours before your flight and reserve your seat for free but elect to pick-up the boarding pass at the check-in desk (or self-service kiosks if they exist).

The OP asked this question and the answer is that someone back here with access to the internet can do an online check-in for someone who is travelling the next day, you pick the seat(s) and say that you will pickup the boarding pass in the airport.

It doesn't work for all airports, you need to go in to the AL website, click on 'Manage Booking/Check-in Online' and see if it offers you online check-in.

If you have access to the internet and a printer and can print your boarding pass then by all means do so as this will speed things up if you aren't checking in bags but it's possible to do an online check-in and reserve your seats without the requirement to print a boarding pass before you get to the airport which means that you can ask someone back in Ireland to do it for you on the last day of your trip.
