This year's harvest

Despite winter's best efforts to thwart a decent harvest this year we're beginning to see results. Pictured is cabbage, cauliflower, onions, toms and peas. Also flourishing in the polytunnel is cucumber, butter squash, spring onions, chard, chillis, peppers green beans and various herbs. It's turning out to be one of the best investments we ever made and will just possibly provide us with as much as a previously rented allotment did.
The hens are as reliable (and cranky) as ever providing us most days with four eggs. We've eaten through our canned food supplies to a minimal level in order to necessitate rotation and, hopefully, well only need them to supplement our bountiful harvest! We have enough wood and coal for the winter also so all in all, despite the financial S hitting the F big time in our household we've come out fighting!
