    Just finished my new build:D
Had a little trouble getting the os on but my son(1st year IT student:cool:) sorted for me....
Anywho I was wondering what peoples opinion's are regarding the branding stickers you get with your hardware. Do you stick em on or not?
I want to stick them on, inside the door of my fractal R4, my son thinks i shouldn't(I will anyway) But just wondering if people do or don't:)

    Not they are completely pointless.

Stick them onto your forehead so that everyone knows that you have a new build.

Or save them up as I do, so I have a miniature record of all the CPUs that I've bought!

Or sell them. I've seen them on ebay for about €1 per sticker. I don't know if anyone actually buys them at that price...

I can remember my dad making a point of never putting brand stickers on anything that he bought. When he'd buy a new car the first thing that came off was the license plate frame with the dealers name on it. He'd always say " They won't be getting any free advertising from me." I feel the same about it plus, it look would look very ugly on that minimalist looking R4.

I only put my Ubuntu label on mine, hardware manufacturers are private companies but open source software surely should be encouraged?

It's different I know but I hate the way they put those stickers on Laptops, always seem to be near where your palms rest and in no time at all they get worn, tattered and start to lift no matter how careful you are. They just make a perfectly good Laptop look like it's been in the wars in no time.

As for the Desktop? Leave them off that too, if you ever want to upgrade and sell the case on it will be more attractive to perspective buyers in it's original untouched state, and they may wish to install totally different hardware.

Well they are for fan boys really, so unless you are going to a LAN party who cares? They do look nice sometimes, but like they said, pointless.

    Stickers make it go faster.

Well if your going to put stickers on at least make sure to line them up straight.

In hindsight for me putting that "Powered by AMD" sticker was bad enough but not even getting it straight has killed me a little inside every time I look at it.

Only got myself a new care in the past week or two and there's no way any stickers will every be let near it for what it's worth.

I'm a sucker for the stickers. Not going to lie. Not the crappy ones that come with the most rudimentary pieces of hardware, but the 'powered by ati/nvidia/intel/amd' style ones. Let's be honest here. People do mention the effect it may have on potential buyers, but in my honest opinion, most people who buy 2nd hand 'gaming' PC's actually lean towards PC's that scream 'I PLAY GAMES AND I HAVE STICKERS TO PROVE IT!'.

Have no stickers on my current machine though.
