Visiting at the Mater Hospital - Bring Walking Shoes

If you are visiting the Mater Hospital access from Eccles Street can be quite daunting.

Main Entrance (up the steps) is permanently closed sign up telling you to go 500 M down Eccles Street.

Phase 1A (Ramp) entrance closed at evening visiting (staff entrance)

Door midway between Old Main Entrance and Phase 1A open Saturday evenings but not on Sunday followed by a long walk down link corridor.

You have to access the Hospital by walking in through the entrance to the new underground car park beside the Mater Private, head for A&E, head to the building to the left of A&E entrance (not signposted) up 1 floor and then turn left, you are then in Phase 1A.

If you want to enter via the new NCR entrance you go up 1 floor and across the access corridor and turn right at the end of the corridor you are in Phase 1A.

Either way wear walking shoes and put plenty of time on the meter.
