I had to cut a hole in my tarmac to fix a burst water pipe. I saved the tarmac piece (about 2 ft square) but I wonder if I can buy tar that I could melt myself to fill the hole. Any advice will be appreciated....

if you have the piece of tarmac you removed refill the hole so the tarmac you are replacing is maybe 3/8 to 1/2 proud get a blowtorch and heat the tarmac get a flat board and a sledge and tap the tarmac back into its original position before it cools job done i had to do it 2 years ago it worked out a treat

If the above doesn't work you can go to your local chadwicks etc and buy a bucket of road! :)

No, seriously you can buy a bucket of premixed pliable tar that you just dollop into place and compact and it will go off in a day or so. I used it to fill a gap where I had cut an access trench for a drain pipe. It wont be the same colour as your pre-weathered tar but it blends better with time...

    HTH..

That's great news... I was sure I'd seen it for sale at some stage but when I went looking I had no idea where. B&Q were no help and local Chadwicks has gone... At least I know its available....
