Second gear stiff

    Hi all,
    it is getting hard to change into second gear in my avensis. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas what could be causing it. Car got a new clutch about a year ago so probably not that,

    Or try changing the gearbox oil first.

    I checked the clutch fluid - that is ok. Will get the gear oil changed at the weekend - hopefully that sorts it out.

    Could also be a linkage issue.

    Much much smaller and cheaper than a problem with the gearbox itself.

    First-to-second is a bit truck-like on some of those Avensises. A higher-quality, synthetic gear oil might help.

    I'll go for the best quality synthetic oil I can get my hands on when changing it.
