Owed money from car sale

    Hey guys

Just a question for anyone who may be in the legal profession.

I sold a car to someone 4 months ago and she had the car checked by someone and drove it twice. She signed a receipt promising to pay the rest by a certain date. That date came and went and then excuses started like I lost my job and I'll give you €50 a week and so on. She has the car since January and still owes me €250.00. I called her today to ask her where my money is and she says your not getting it cos the car is crap and a mechanic says it needs a load of work.
She even said she might ask me for a full refund.
Anyway she signed to say the car had been driven and tested to her satisfaction but she says I ripped her off
What are my options as the car is 14 years old and sold privately.
Can I sue for the balance or does she have a case.
IMO she bought it fair and square. I didn't know it would go wrong 4 months later.
    Any help would be appreciated
    R

The forum rules don't allow the seeking of or giving of legal advice.

On a personal level, and for future reference I would suggest that you do not sell someone something (especially a car) and not getting all the money upfront.

Hopefully from this experience you will learn such.

On how to get the money back, seek advice from a legal professional. Which may be a bit too costly for a car that is 14 years old.
