    Hi,

Myself and the misses upgraded our phones, both our old phones are past their warranty so I said I'd have a stab at trying to root them as practice for when I eventually root our new phones. My old phone was a Galaxy Mini and hers was a Galaxy Y, both running 2.3.6.

I've tried various different versions of Universal Gingerbread Root ( V25 was the last I tried) by Enabling USB debugging and allowing Unknown Sources, and booting both phones into recovery and selecting the update. It says everything goes through ok and super user is there when I reboot, but root validator and every other app that needs root access says the phone is not rooted. I've also tried SuperOneClick on both phones, but it only gets as far as step 7 and then freezes.

Can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong ?, thanks in advance.
