Any advice folks? Turn between never been caught inside without keys in the event of an emergency versus a thief breaking glass and sticking hand in to open door....
We live in the dundrum Dublin area.

    Any advice?

Anti snap Anti bump locks would be the better solution.

They come with thumb option so question still remains.
I bought two and opted for the thumb feature based on quick exit in event of fire etc. Unless intruder can see thumb catch teh they are unlikely to break glass to attempt entry. I hope

Tbh, I find the whole "use key from inside" idea quite strange.
Use a thumb lock and maybe consider an alarm or a second lock or a chain if you think you'd need it. In that case you can also use clear plastic to add to the inside of the glass to prevent it from shattering.

    Prevents things like this happening.
Also with Euro locks fitted they can be easily snapped in seconds making your door easy to open. With anti snap it will only break in a section preventing an intruder getting into the locks mechanism to open the door.

    Cheapest place to get these?

I bought the antibump lock from http://mdlockandkey.ie
I was a bit wary about the thumb screw aswell but this one you have to push the thumbscrew to engage it

Thumbwheel not necessarily the best idea if you have small kids who might like to go rambling.

well you could have a yale latch for that, whats to stop someone reaching in with their arm if its a child being used to open it or as I have seen someone use a tool to reach in and operate the thumbwheel
