    2013 NIGHT OF STARS LAUNCHED AT SHELBOURNE

    The 2013 Night of Stars was launched at Shelbourne Park this evening and the format will be very much the same as for last year’s hugely successful inaugural staging.
    The date for this year’s Night of Stars gala celebration is Saturday, November 30th and the special €100 Club Membership tickets will go on sale immediately.
    The Night of Stars format will be very much the same as in 2012 with the series comprising of eight championship races over all distances: 350, 525, Bitch 525, 550, 575, 600, 750 and 850.
    The prizemoney will be €10,000 for each winner as well as a specially commissioned trophy, €1,000 for the runners-up and €500 for the third placed finishers. Entry fee for all races will be €300. The remaining four races on the night will be the quarter finals of the Comerford Cakes National Puppy Stake.
    All eight races will be individually sponsored while the €92,000 prizemoney will be collected via this sponsorship along with generous IGB prizemoney grant and the sale of the Club Tickets.
    The Club Tickets entitle each bearer to Admission, Racecard, Dinner & Wine in Dobbins Grandstand Restaurant, participation in draws and support of this magnificent occasion.
    Launching the Night of Stars, IGB Chairman Phil Meaney said: “Greyhound followers will be delighted that the Night of Stars is going ahead again this year. Last year’s meeting was a huge success and the atmosphere was quite amazing. I am a firm believer in honouring the top of class and this is a terrific end of year celebration for the sport”.
