A little squeeze may be all that it takes to prevent malignant breast cells triggering cancer, research has shown.
    ...
The results were presented at the annual meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology in San Francisco.

I'll be setting up a charity to promote cancer awareness and um, eh, more research.

All jokes aside, does it not just sound like they're (i) moving a glut of cells away from one another or (ii) interfering with cell metabolism by physical force, like smashing them up? How would that ever be recreatable in a synthetic drug?

I'm not a science man so that's a question not a criticism, science men (and ladies)

Conversely surely the odd tug can help prevent testicular cancer?

Come on ladies, do your part!

The downside will be the number of men with repetitive strain disorder in their wrists. Unless the sisters start doing it for themselves....

You gotta love the media. They turn
'The study involved growing malignant breast epithelial cells within a gel injected into flexible silicone chambers. This allowed the scientists to apply compression during the first stages of cell growth, effectively squashing the cells'

    into
Phwoaarr. Get your tits out ladies

    just like that.
