What type of mountain will you be locking to?

Seriously though, you don't need a lock, you need two. And a cable. Fwiw, I use an Abus Bordo Granit x plus, a kryptonite ny fahgeddaboutit and a cable for securing the front wheel. No twisting this bike off a pole! It has been interfered with, but given up on. For good locking ideas, search for Hal Ruzal on YouTube.

If it's an expensive bike, then you definitely need two locks as Enda says. I use 2 Kryptonite locks, a mini evo attaching the front wheel and frame to the stand, then a Series 2 for locking the rear wheel, seat stays and, if there's enough space, the crank arm, to the stand.

With a couple of decent locks it makes it a lot harder for any scumbag to start hacking away with a hacksaw/angle grinder, and they'll either get caught, or move on to another bike with crappy locks.
