Middle Name when booking flights

    Hi, I'm trying to book flights to the US but one of our party is waiting for their passport to come. They are undue whether their middle name will appear on the passport and This probably will cause us problems when booking . Does anyone know whether we should leave the name out or just include it ? And checking the British Airways website they won't change flight details that aren't exclusively on their planes (flying aer lingus to heathrow, ba to New York and American Airlines back to Dublin)
