Dog theft

Hi lads, not into hunting myself but I just wanted to ask a question.

I know last year in the Munster area there were a number of dogs being stolen, heard of a few cases where kennels were emptied. I I heard whispers of who was behind it, no names mentioned but just someone who was well known and from a specific area.

Now there has always been dog theft and there always will but I have noticed in the first few months of this year and well last year, to a laser extent, as well the number of pet dogs who are hunting breeds has been very noticeable up and down the country. Two lurchers were stolen from a boarding kennels the other night, springers are going missing regularly.

What I want to know is have things calmed down in the hunting community with regards to theft or as things as bad as they ever were. Has anyone had any soot with the gardai. I personally think that these dogs are being taken out of the country as they are simply vanishing into thin air. Every dog owners worst nightmare, I would prefer my dog to drop dead in front of me than be stolen, atleast then I wouldn't be left wondering what kind of hands they had fallen into.

Yeah like I said just trying to find out what the story is to some extent. The amount of its stolen in the last year is mad, and like I said there seems to be some trend with hunting breeds so someone must be targeting them. I would assume there is good money to be made with a hunting dog who has been well trained.

Tbh if someone stole my own dog I wouldn't be responsible for my actions if I caught them.
