Expected Salary

Hi I interviewed for a couple of jobs recently and got call backs for both of them, only one of them asked what i expected salary wise in the interview and I said I was open to offers and as long as it was fair there shouldn't be a problem.

Only problem is i don't know what fair is or what the average is out there. I recently finished college and i'm expecting to graduate with a 2:1 at least in Computer Systems Management, as part of the course we did 6 months work experience but other then that I have no job relevant experience.
The two roles I interviewed for were as an I.T Support Technician and an I.T Support Engineer, both are located outside of Dublin.

What is a good ballpark figure to expect from these positions??
    Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking it would be in or around that just wanted to get an outside opinion from somebody else who'd know

No worries, Depends on the company more than anything.

Back when I was an IT field Service Engineer, that was roughly what I was on.

    Thank you.

That the salary will be comparable to the same position in similar companies, ie they will compete with these companies for the best employees.

'Competitive' in this context means their salaries will be about the same as their competitors

It doesn't always work out like that though as some companies will just not want to display salary up front and will say 'Competitive' to hide it
