Dynamo hub/wheel for road bike

With a view to doing longer audax events involving night riding I'm scoping out wheels with dynamo hubs. My budget won't stretch to the SON dynamos so I'm looking at the Shimano 3N72 or 3N80. A number of German sites sell pre-made wheels with both dynamos for about €120. The only fly in the ointment is the rim which tends to be a Mavic A319. They're intrinsically fine (I have one on my hybrid) but they're recommended for use with tyre widths between 28 and 47. I'd prefer to put on a 25mm tyre. Given all this can anyone recommend somewhere that sells a pre-made wheel with a 3N80 hub and road bike rim?

I don't know the answer to your question but when I got a dyno-hub I bought it online and brought it in to the LBS and got them to build it in to a wheel. They didn't bat an eyelid.

By the way, I love my dyno-hub. One of the best gadgets I ever bought for my bike.

I'd give parker-international a call. They do hand built wheels (I've had a few from there and no complaints so far), and while they don't specifically offer the combo you are looking for on their site, they have all manner of open pro rims etc, and the DH-3N80 hub, so I reckon they'd be able to do you a wheel no bother.

My only reluctance with that option is the additional labour cost of having a wheel built. Last time I had a wheel built it cost - if memory serves - about €80 and I just don't have it.

Last dynohub wheel I got was from http://www.starbike.com, c. €130 on with an OpenPro rim, the wheel build was only about €25, I think.

@Tiny: Thanks for the suggestion but Parker are charging £UK81 (€95) for the hub alone. It may be I'm literally asking for the impossible here...

Lumen: you've got a hub dynamo, haven't you? Can I ask which one, is it on a road bike and, if so, what's the rim?

Shimano LX T665 with Open Pro.

Technically a disc hub, but the rotor comes off easily and I've been running it with rim brakes for the last year.

    Built by Holyboy@Bee Cycles.

I got my last Dyno hub wheel off ebay.de for 64.90 including shipping. It's one of the lower end Shimanos (3N30), but I have the 3D72 and there's no difference to my mind.

i doubt very much you will notice the difference in tyre widths.
i bought my front dynmo wheel from bikediscount only 7 euro postage and the wheel is spot on.

Bikeradar loved that hub and I am tempted despite everything I've said about cost. Presumably it doesn't absolutely have to be paired with a Supernova light?

I know this sounds finicky but I know I will notice because I already have when switching tyres on the hybrid from 28 to 25. I generally stick with 28s on that bike because it does smaller distances (rarely more than 100km in a day and typically more like 10-15km). But the thought of putting a 28 on the soon-to-be-reconceptualised-as-an-audax bike is more than my already wavering will can face. At some point as I'm struggling along at 4am in the morning, the thought that "this would be much easier on 25s, why didn't I go with 25s?" will lodge itself in my head. No-one wants that.

I just put 28mm on my road bike, tight squeeze, and don't find bike any slower.
If for Audax the comfort should have a higher priority over speed(I'm not convinced there is much of a difference)

True enough but stick a set of slicks on to make up for any drag ;)
to be honest if i could afford it i would be going hand built wheels more expensive i know but you get what you pay for.

Did the Dying Light 200k. last year on 47mm. or 1 3/4" tyres. Wouldn't have hang ups about tyre sizes to be honest.
