Bipolar: cost of life assurance

My wife has been living with Bipolar for the last 8 years, without issue, what I'm wondering is if I'll run into problems if I try to get a better deal on our life assurance, this illness was not present when we took out the policy.
Has any one else had any problems with insurance with this disorder?

Sorry, I missed this. No, I didn't have a problem getting it but my premium was very high. Much higher than anyone else I talked to who was also a smoker but who didn't have bipolar.

My partner just got refused today due to his bipolar, so you may have a bit of hassle. We applied to Irish Life. We had applied 3 years ago and they refused him and told him to reapply after a certain period of time. We reapplied this year and he has now been refused indefinitely. He is going to appeal as he has managed it without any medication and hospitalisation in the past 4 years so didn't think it should be a problem. Can I ask you which company you got your life insurance with nesf?

AIB, it was 7 years ago though, so policy may have changed.
