When you are selling a car that has been damaged in an accident and has since been repaired Do you have to declare this?

I'm looking into selling my car but was in a bit of an accident a few months back where the front bumper, Headlight, bonnet and wing needed to be replaced. There wasn't an awful lot of damage it was just with it being the corner all of the parts got a bit of damage. There was no damage to anything mechanical, it was just the body work

It has all since been repaired to a very high standard. How would this affect the reselling of the car?

    Yes I would.

If you have photos show them, maybe don't mention it in the advert but you may as well be open about it.

If it was just cosmetic damage many people will not be too bothered. I have had body panels painted in the past with little more than a chip in the paint. There are few cars out there that haven't had some repair at some stage in their life.

How much would it affect the price i could get for it?

Anyone who knows what they are looking at will most likely know that the car was repaired, so may as well be open about it. If it was cosmetic repairs, it has been repaired to a high standard and you can show some paperwork for the repairs then I cant see it affecting the sale too badly.

If the repairs are done to a high standard it can be very hard to tell if a side panel, for example, has been replaced - (cosmetic repairs I mean)

To be fair to the OP though, what she is talking about I think is a bit different in that parts were just replaced rather than repaired.

So a replaced wing for example isn't comparable to one where the original was just badly filled/hammered out, no?

Under those conditions, assuming it was done by a reputable dealer/insurer's body shop and there was no structural damage I wouldn't think it'd be an issue myself.

Either way, whether there was structural/mechanical damage, I would be honest about it no matter what it was. I would like a seller to be honest with me so I would be honest with a buyer.

In your case, it seems to be only cosmetic damage, all of which was replaced rather than repaired? Still, be honest and show any receipts you have for the work. Let any potential buyers contact the people who did the work if they want.

There's too much codology going on when it comes to selling cars. Be one of the good ones :D

Best of luck with the sale!

All the parts were replaced with genuine manufacturer parts during the repair some were second hand and some were new. There was no repairing of the original part.

If they don't ask, don't tell.

Onus is on the buyer to spot it.

Don't lie. But never tell more than you have to.
