I am looking at getting this groupset

I'm new to MTB/Trekking gear so anyone could share their opinions on this set. It's low end and probably all I will ever going to need.

I currently have some mix of alivio mechanical disc brakes and random shimano components.

Also will the cassette tool fit the disc rotors lockring ?

    Cheers

Absolutely nothing wrong with Deore. Supposedly the SLX cranks are stiffer but if you're not into racing just yet then that won't even remotely matter.

I've mostly SLX on my MTB so can't tell from first hand about Deore but a friend of mine had mostly Deore before he got a bike with SRAM. He was very happy with the groupset.
