    Hello people,
Problem with the wiring on my clio on the passenger window.
The problem is with the two live wires coming from the ignition as i have ran a live from the battery & tested the earth.
How would one go about rewiring from the ignition?

Did you check the fuse? :pac:

Power doen't come directly from your ignition. It goes via the fuse box.

see if it has 12 volts at the fuse box so you know powers going that far.

If good then the break is between the fuse box and the switch on the door. Pull of the bellow on the door and check for 12v. Then check for 12 volts at the switch. Then at the motor.

edit: one thing renaults do very badly is electric windows. Neither of the rear windows work in my mam's car. I checked them and it's the switch that's gone. If you've no mutimeter you can bypass the switch with a bit of wire or something.

Oh course i checked fuse :pac:
Yes i realise that the wire comes from the ignition to the fusebox then the wires from the fuse. I have checked for 12 volts & nothing.. the two feeds are ok from the motor as it goes up & down perfect with a battery. However when i wired it directly from the battery in the car into the switch it goes up & down perfectly via the switch. so it has to be the wiring

The photo is the very same as my wiring it may explain things more..

What I do is take out the fuse and check there is 12 V there by sticking the probes into the empty slots. This is just to check the power wire hasn't been pulled out of the back of the box. Then work your way along checking for 12v.

There should be a connector in the door jamb where the hinges are for the wiring harness. You might have to pull off a rubber bellows or something. If you have 12v there its a break in the wires between the connector and the switch. If there is no power going that far its between the door and the fuse box.

There will be a control unit of some sort that turns the single 12v wire coming from the fuse box into the group of wires you see in the pic.

I've no idea where the control unit is but it's probably in the dash or footwells somewhere. If you back the carpet under the glovebox or take out the glovebox you might see the wires running along.

A wiring diagram would be handy if you could get one so you know what color wires are going where. Sorry it's pretty general. I don't know where anything is or what system is on a clio. Try renault forums. I've seen wiring diagrams on there before but never signed up so I can't access them.

I wasn't sure if you wired the battery direct to the motor or the switch :)
