The Hunt for Britian's (Muslim) Sex Gangs (touchy Channel4 doc)

Anybody else catch this show? I've put it in After Hours since it's more a general topic. I'm quite liberal so watching this was hard going. I'm fairly surely it's a cultural problem of Muslim young guys seeing white girls as easy (called white whores, etc. a lot). The girls in the show are underage so it's maybe one best avoided by parents.

Worth checking out for those who can stomach such issues.

[Also, I would like to note I am not interested in starting some political debate betweens boring ideologues but more normal members of the forum].

Why is sexual abuse by Asian Muslims seen as a 'cultural problem', but sexual abuse by white Christians isn't?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 870 ✭✭✭scopper

Because they targeted white girls making it a tricky cultural problem. The same way it would if the roles were reversed. There is a general child abuse problem of course. This we all know. But this is what the documentary is about.

Whats to debate op ? A group of men rape and slave young vulnerable girls,They use the excuse that all white women/girls are easy, There pathetic excuse is just that pathetic.

Seriously OP, what are your views, opinions, conclusions? Are you literally just curious about who was watching channel 4 at that time?

I was curious about reactions given the scale of the operations. Maybe I am somewhat naive about this, but doing a bit of googling it seems fairly common. Seems I'm behind the times/head in sand about such things. 100-200 guys involved shocked me. But I do now see this is fairly normal in such networks. Am sure white versions exist too, but maybe are older and more organized.

Because the media don't bother much with reporting caucasian sex gang activity. That just doesn't usually sell papers. It's much easier to prey on people's prejudices.

Somewhat unusually, wrt to selling papers, how many of the perps recently revealed in Operation Yewtree were asian and how many white?

I think you're feigning naivety tbh. Of course if you search Google for it you're going to get plenty of hits. That doesn't make it common, it just makes your search results biased. 100 - 200 people involved does not an epidemic make, especially as the muslim population in the UK is nearly hitting 3 million.

It's not ANYTHING normal among the muslim community btw, and from what I remember having seen that documentary you're referring to a few months ago, you seem to be ignoring the muslim leaders who are fighting to purge these people from their community. Muslims get a bad enough rap in the UK as it is, and especially now in the current tense social climate.

OP in all honesty I can smell the troll bait from here. Either that, or you're completely misinformed knee-jerk reaction is just what watching Channel 4 were hoping for by showing such a biased program. Channel 4 are well known for shìt stirring, they're like the Daily Mail version of TV when it comes to spinning current affairs to stir up hatred amongst the ill educated masses for anything that doesn't jig with their narrow world view.

You found it hard to watch because your liberal? They exploited and abused young girls what's being liberal got to do with it. what they did was completely wrong and they should pay for their crimes, race, religion etc should have no bearing on it.

I feel like being super pedantic, but what views do you have that would be classed as Liberal?

    True,in a perfect world.

However it's not far from here that we had members of the Islamic faith defending the use of a few slaps as acceptable when keeping one's missus in line.

Can't find it now,but heres the jist of the justification which WILL be put forward for your consideration....

    Sharh al-‘Aqeedah al-Waasitah, 1/180-181

Based on this, Islam does not regard men and women as equal in matters where regarding them as equal would result in injustice to one of them, because equality that is inappropriate is a severe form of injustice.

    [al-Nisa’ 4:34]
Ibn Katheer (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“Allaah says ‘Men are the protectors and maintainers of women’ meaning that the man is in charge of the woman, i.e., he is the leader and head of the household, the one who disciplines her if she goes astray.

‘because Allaah has made one of them to excel the other’ i.e., because men are superior to women and are better than women. Hence Prophethood was given only to men, as was the position of khaleefah, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘No people shall ever prosper who appoint a woman as their ruler.’ This was narrated by al-Bukhaari from the hadeeth of ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn Abi Bakrah from his father. The same applies to the position of qaadi (judge), etc.

Make of it all what you will.......

What's the point you are making? Or are you just quoting from a bat-****-crazy Islamic website in an attempt to imply all Muslims are sexist?

Well, last weeks events proved at least some awful relevance to that linked image...:(

But if it's intended to refer to any axe I might have then you're waay off beam.

Folks will be well able to do their own sharpening without any assistance from me...;)

    Wow!,talk about leaps of faith.

Whatever phobias I have to contend with, you can be reassured that a modbid fear of Islam or it's adherents is not one of them.

I have relations who married into Islam, but hey I'll happily rock up and eat them out of house and hummus.

A sizeable chunk of my work colleagues are Muslims,of varying hue's,and guess what,I manage to share a canteen table and the odd tea-bag with them (some of them are REALLY miserable git's).

I interact with equally large numbers of Muslims each and every day without either them,or myself, requiring pyschological intervention (yet).

Worse still,by far and away the funniest incident I heard of in months was one told by muslim colleage who just so happens to be straight out of central-casting....(VERY Impressive beard, and so many middle eastern features as to be a contender for a starring role as a Saudi Prince ).

    Bus pulls up to stop.

Doors open and first customer up is a somewhat unsteady Dublin Yoot...

Customer : " Heaarr mister, where's yer funny Hah"

    Driver: My what ?

Customer: "Yer Funny Hah,de lirrel roundy wun all youze all wear n all "

Driver: "Oh that....No No,where I come from we don't wear hats at all, most of us wear Bomber Jackets instead !

Customer: "See U,yer fuxckken mad you are....."

I know it's a variation on a theme, but it cracked me up to hear it recited in the droll manner of the man who delivered it.

So,Humbert,I do hope you're not offended if I ask you to take your flat-packery out to your potting-shed to assemble yourself, cos I still have an MFI Stocks and Pillory kit to finish off....;)
