    Hi All

I am looking for recommendations for a nice hotel to stay in Paris. We were hoping to get a 4 star for about €200 a night budget.

What part of the city would be a good place to stay ? It would be nice to have restaurants and bars close by.

Also any suggestions for things to do when we are there would be great :)

    Thanks
    Barr

When are you going? I love Paris and visit often but the windows when I'd recommend it as a honeymoon destination are short. Gets so unbelievably cold in winter and so hot in August that most Parisians escape from the city.

This is my favourite hotel in the city, in my favourite area. It's very much a boutique hotel, but very French. http://relais-saint-jacques.com/en/home/

Its located in the Trinite Quartier near Grands Magasins. Anyone have an idea what this area is like or how central it is ?

I like that area. I've walked up and down Rue de Clichy a number of times, and hung around in cafés there. It's a fairly busy road traffic-wise, but it's got many small, convenient shops which make it quite civilised. I recommend La Rotonde café down by the Trinité church for very good espresso and orange juice.

It is fairly central — you can walk to Galeries Lafayette and Opéra in about 15 minutes (don't bother getting the Métro).

I'm staying here next week so ill let you know how I get on!
It's the best value I could find for something decent - also a special occasion for my trip.
Tripadisor reviews swayed my decision also.
Only issue is its right off the red light district, but everywhere seems walkable from it and its safe enough.

Great whiskeyman I'd appreciate it. Can't beat first hand experience.

Are you doing the switching room every nite thing they do?

Not sure! I know my OH would prob find that weird as she'd probably find the unpacking and repacking things a hassle, but if the rooms really are worth checking out, I may see for our last night. Sounds pretty cool.

    Any updates here?

We're going the first week in March. Seems to be hundreds to choose from.
