What is the highest spec off the shelf Samsung tablet?

You'll have to excuse me if the question is one of those ones which is dependent on use. I've been trying to compare the various note's and tab 2's etc., but I get bogged down due to my lack of knowledge when it comes to technology.

I have an iPad 3, but I want to sell it and pick up whichever is the highest performance Samsung tablet, as I find the iPad is like a round circle peg trying to fit into a square hole as all my other devices are android/Samsung. The restricted nature of the iPad is giving me a pain in the face, and I find myself doing things on my phone that I would prefer to do on my tablet, such as watching tv on xbmc and flash videos etc.

Anyway, any chance someone could tell a technomoron like me in simple language the differences between the note and tab 2 and which model has the best performance. Processing power and customisation is most important to me, over say, camera quality.

    Thanks in advance :)

Nexus 10 would be best. Also why are you restricting yourself to Samsung? Have you looked at the Asus transformer range?

    Thanks!

Yeah I had forgotten about the Nexus. I was looking at them back in Jan and wanted to pick one up, but it wasn't released in Ireland (AFAIK). But that shouldn't be a problem now, as I'm working abroad, and should be able to get one here.

The reason I specified Samsung, is that I have a number of Samsung products, and I'm very impressed with them. I have no trouble with them at all, and from what I can see, they make excellent stuff. Also, being a wee bit OCD, it'll be nice that they're all the same brand, so they can sync together well. I will look into the ASUS transformers. I used to have an ASUS netbook, and it was a great little yoke.

Thanks again. I'd say I'll go for the Nexus 10 if I can find one at a reasonable price.

    Nexus 10.

I was in your very same situation and moved from an iPad to the Nexus.

On a side note, you actually can install xbmc on the Ipad but you need to jailbreak it.

Have a look at the Note 10. I don't think it's as powerful as the Nexus 10 but the pen is a killer app. Performance wise the tablet performs smoothly and there's no lag or slowdown at all on it.
I bought the Note 10 as I had hassle buying the Nexus. It has a microSD card slot so it's very cheap to upgrade the memory. But the pen, which I thought was a gimmick when buying is the think I use it the most for.

Even the screen splitting is handy. I use that for watching training videos while writing notes.

If I was buying again I'd be getting the Note.

However, if you are sure you'll just be using it for video or web then the pen is of no benefit to you.
