So i have a booking for tomorrow morning nct, only trouble is rear tire on passenger side is worn badly, so most likely it will fail. My question if it fails on tires alone, is it 30quid and retest or just visual inspection to comeback ?thx

Depends, if it passes the braking test etc it'll just be visual.

I had a bit of wear on the edge and just had a visual or free.

In line retest, 28 to pay for.

Tyres are checked when car is lifted up in there.

Nope , if its a tyre wear problem ie below the min across the tyre you'll just have a visual.

OP, can you not swap it with the spare wheel until you get a replacement? You don't need a spare wheel for the NCT.

My car failed coz of left rear one was worn .got tyre .no need to make appointment just turn up. Free visual.he come out checked it.got new cert.
