Any opinions on either of these? We would like to buy locally if possible, not online and have rooted through all the various sites looking for i3 processor and 4GB RAM.

    Compaq CQ-58278 for €389

    and

    HP Pavilion g6 for €449

The compaq is more in the price range but could stretch to the HP.

    Or any other recommendations?

It's for an 11 year old who will be doing scratch and python for now but wants to do more advanced programming later on and I'm assuming will be surfing etc in the future.

    Thanks!!

Thanks, that looks good too. And free shipping.

I'm also looking at an Acer Aspire on elara - I just have this horror of buying electronics online, probably unreasonable I know. They also have that acer on amazon but it's from another shop and costs about 50 sterling to deliver so the Lenovo probably better.

Will put them both to the young man involved. Have had another look around and not sure that Compaq up to much.
