I bought one of these recently

I followed the instructions and for its first charge, I charged it for 24 hours, I then used it and all good, very happy with it.

I used it until it went totally dead

The thing is on the manual, it does not say how long you should charge it for AFTER the very first charge of 24 hours.

Mailed the manafacturers, got one mail saying to charge for 10 hours, another person replied with 24 hours.

The battery is a nickel cadmuim (ni cad ) type battery.

My question now is - going forward how long should I charge the battery for ?

Leave it plugged in overnight. You'll be grand.

    Sound, thanks

So after the initial charge of 24 hours, going forward just charge it for about 8-10 hours?

    It won't overcharge. Don't worry;)
