Please be my Guinea Pigs (Lottery)

    Hi All,

I'm running an experiment and would love Ah to help me out. I wrote a computer program that simulates random lotto draws over the course of the next 50 years. Ive based it on the Irish lotto. What I need volunteers to do is post on this thread to "buy" a "virtual ticket". You can have as many lines as you like, with or without plus. Please specify how often you would like your ticket entered (Irish lotto does two draws weekly). You can give specific numbers or quick pick or a combination of both. Ill enter all tickets into the program and simulate 50 years of lotto draws. Ill then post the results on this thread. The data gathered will include how much money you would have spent on tickets and how many prizes you would have won. Feel free to ask questions.

    Notes:

*The program generates genuine random numbers

*It is assumed for simplicity that there will be two draws weekly (Lotto sometimes hold extra draws)

*It is assumed that the prize structure will stay the same over the next 50 years (obviously this will change in reality)

So please feel free to join the experiment and thank you for reading.

In post number two, ill give details of my ticket as a template / example entry.

TL;DR version: post some numbers for a lotto ticket

Just wondering what algorithm are you using to create the random numbers?

What is the purpose of the experiment?

I'm using a usb device I developed that generates truly random numbers. Don't want to say too much about it yet.

You're experiment, while admirable, is fatally flawed, I'm afraid.

Guinea Pigs are prohibited from playing the real lottery.

I don't know much about RNGs but this is the most 'random' RNG that I've ever heard of, it uses physical reference via light sensors pointed at a vacuum.

Here's a stream from the RNG

There's one run from Trinity as well, random.org, which generates the numbers from atmospheric noise with an api to pull numbers from the site.

a guy in town bet on four numbers to come up in the Lotto a few weeks ago, he got odds of 33,000 - 1 in Ladbrokes.
He put €3 on and won €99,000

Had he got the 4 numbers in the regular Lotto, he would have got approx €150

Still haven't the foggiest what he's trying to achieve, something about a RNG.How does giving him numbers help with this?

Yes, by far the most obvious question is what is the purpose of this experiment?

The only thing I can think of is that he is looking to examine the distribution of human generated numbers by enticing AH to supply them.

I'll bet the lottery supply a breakdown of numbers and frequency chosen.
