How much would you consider is a 'decent price' ?

    to play Mon-Thurs / Fri

    to play Sat / Sun

I would be looking to pay

    monday thursday friday.. 25 - 30 euro

    weekends 35 - 40 euro..

price isnt really a the matter its getting a decent time is mainly the problem .. i Find the people in the pro shops just been ignorant and just saying No we dont hav anything fully booked etc.. i rang over 10 golf clubs today and thursday and every single one just said no nothing there sorry and basically was hanging up the phone before i even manged to say thanks.. Cant even get a decent time or coarse on golfnow

Did you try St. Margaret's? They're usually very accommodating even during busy periods.

Depends what you consider a decent time but in most cases decent times especially at the weekend will be reserved for competitions and members. That's to be expected.

When you rang these clubs what day and time were you looking for ?

PS its course not coarse (sorry but reading that over and over is grating on me)

I can feel your pain !

When I lived in Dublin we always had the same problem, particularly at this time of year when guys are looking to get out before Sunset minus 4 hours.

You might be surprised at the reaction if you try some of the less obvious Courses.
€40 will get you out at St Annes in Bull Island, Dollymount. It's well worth the dosh & they welcome visitors.

No substitute for getting your oar in first, so book on a Monday (you can always cancel)

If you're Southside or Westside try Tulfarris (€30 during the week & a lovely course)

Its been such a long bad winter that many people are rushing to the course any day that's dry. Couldn't believe how many people were out last Tuesday evening after work, normally the course is deserted midweek.

Pesky members using the course during the summer eh! Who'd have believed it.

I work south side and head down to Druids heath in 30 mins.

There's usually availability there if that's doable for you.

Try teetimes.ie or golfnow.ie. a lot of Dublin courses on that for cheap prices

Margaret's had nothing there same as some of the rest not until 7pm etc.. I was ringing for a teetime for 12 - 3pm .. these are the golf coarses i enquired about. Hermintage, Citywest, Lucan, Castleknock, Beech park, Grange Castle, Edmondstown, The grange Rathfarnham, Newlands, there is more to add to this list but ill be here for the whole day. Every single one of them just said plain no or where busy sorry, some of them didnt even say when it wasnt busy if we could get out or not. Best excuse i got was from the Hermintage. sorry but we dont allow non members on the coarse certain days of the week so no there is no teetimes available for u.

Try corrstown, €35/head for golf and grill

    They've 3 9's so you should get a slot

Here's an off the wall idea, try booking the round further in advance.

You sound as if these clubs should be accomadating you... If they've a full time-sheet then what do you expect.

You would hope that the person on the other end of the phone is courteous, but you could have been the 20th guy calling up looking (maybe expecting) for a last minute booking and you didn't say they were rude... Just that they had no slots...imagine that...sure we get 100's of these sunny days every year

All those clubs have their own websites where you can check availability and book online, or check availability and then call to book, in fact 99% of clubs now have this facility, as mentioned you can book in advance on their websites as well.
