Upgrading GPU advice needed

    Hi folks.
    I think it's time to finally upgrade my graphics card, but i can't decide what to go for.
    I currently have a Radeon HD5970 which is a fantastic card, but starting to struggle with some of the latest DX11 games (Far Cry 3.....I'm looking at you).

    I play at 1440 and I want to go the Nvidia route.

    Should I go 2 x GTX680s in SLI, 1 x GTX 690, or a new GTX 780.

    Currently running i7 980x processer with 12gb DDR3 ram.

    Any advice will be much appreciated.
