I'm not overly religious but have a holy water font at the back door and probably out of habit more than anything else, bless myself when i'm leaving the house. We had a 2litre container of holy water from knock and I always kept the font topped up but the container is nearly empty now and so i was wondering if i simply filled it up from the tap would the effectiveness of the water be diluted or will the holiness spread to the rest of the water from the tap.

I doubt it would be as effective.Would a diluted version of the bible have been such a success?.....oh wait..

A bowlful of cat's piss would be equally as effective as both undiluted and diluted holy water in terms of the difference they would make.

That would be an ecumenical matter.

No, adding normal water will only quench the existing holiness rendering any miracles purely coincidental and not due to the water itself.

You need some of this, dissolve the salts in the water and its holiness shall be restored.

It will actually be more effective, according to the principles of homeopathy.

As you already appear to believe in one form of hocus-pocus, one more should be easy enough for you to take on board.

I'm pretty sure if you tested holy water in a lab for holiness chemicals you won't find any. Holy water from Knock is more than likely just tap water anyway so I don't see any difference in adding water from your own tap.

when you say "back door" , do you mean like the door in your house or is it a meaning more to be found in the adult film world ?

You'll find that every time you dilute it you'll be getting less and less of god.

You could be near 0.001% god.

Your god levels are dangerously low.

Myself and my brother aren't very religious and would never use the old holy well by the door to bless ourselves when leaving the house. It would drive my mother mad. Years later she admitted that she would put holy water in the tea pot when making a brew.

So I think you're ok to dilute it OP. My mam wouldn't be wasting the stuff.

Too much sense for religion thread.

Next you'll be saying there's no body of Christ in the body of Christ....

Just run it through a holy Brita filter and you should be grand and maybe boil it before making any holy tea.

The religion forum maybe be slightly more helpful.
