Cyclothymia disorder

Are there any posters here who can share some information or personal stories about this disorder? I have looked at every disorder under the sun (schizoid PD, depressive PD, etc.) to understand what is wrong, and none seem to match what i am dealing with, aside from this one.

I have been having issues with feelings of emptiness, severe apathy, anhedonia etc. on a near daily basis for several years now. I have difficulties concentrating at school and struggle to motivate myself to do work. I have exams in a number of weeks but I am not interested in opening any books for example.

Other times, which can be for a full day or more, but most often on rare occasions, I am in a elated state where all feels good. I can be extremely irritable and aggressive when I am like this, and my energy levels go up (but not to the point where I am hyperactive). Sometimes these occur together, e.g I'll be feeling empty and emotionless and then someone making a noise from another room is enough to make me want to run in and physically hurt and scream at them. I've never had a manic or severely depressive episode. I have visited a psychiatrist twice but she was drawing a blank and decided to refer me to a psychologist, as he may have a better understanding of whats going on, but I have only recently discovered this disorder (and it was after our last meeting)

I just want to feel whole and happy at the end of the day.
    Thanks.
