Literally? Glad you clarified that it wasn't some metaphorical marriage. Metaphorical wives only make metaphorical sticky toffee puddings, which literally don't exist.

A slice of home made Bakewell Tart with a large dollop of whipped cream and a cup of coffee (if it's before lunch) or tea (if it's later in the day).

    Warm apple tart and ice-cream.

Proper old fashioned apple tart mind, none of these half cooked ones on a tin-foil plate. It should be made in a tray so the crusts soak up all the juice & no cinnamon or raisins messing up the flavour.

    Cheesecake, hands down.

Anything chocolate based. - fruit has no place in desserts, except strawberries on a pavlova.

Can't believe the thread has gotten this far without the mention of chocolate.
Chocolate cake, chocolate fudge cake, chocolate torte- CHOCOLATE!!!

So do you just plough your face into it and munch?

    The cheesecake that is.

Agreed! The worst thing is when you have something nice and chocolately and you bite into it and there's fecking raisins in it. Why would you do something like that? Happened to me the other day with chocolate biscuit cake. It was rank :(

Panna cotta. It's like ice cream and jelly for grown ups.

Cake is the worst thing in the world ever. Give me a nice trifle or sorbet anyday.

    tiramisu.

    or tiramisu and icecream....

The Sahara of course. Isn't it everyone's favourite?

Edit: Doh, remind me to read a thread before posting. He means dessert. Don't really do desserts, um err sherry trifle without the trifle or the sherry, just whiskey. That's a proper dessert.

    Profiteroles and ice cream.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,054 ✭✭✭SadieSue

Pumpkin Pie.. mmm whipped cream on top. Warm apple tart with a scoop of icecream. Chocolate cake. A really decent cheesecake. Tiramisu... but what I really want right now is lemon meringue pie. Feck.

Apple Crumble and Apple Pie. Reading this thread made me hungry so am currently eating Apple and Strawberry crumble.

Jelly, not with ice-cream and has to be strawberry.

    Custard.

    Cheesecake.

    Pavalova.

    Ice-cream.

Hell I just love desserts. Honestly, if I ignored the voice in my head I would be obese!

Rich luxurious chocolate cake OR lemon cheesecake.

What, no no no, why would anyone put raisins in? Choc biscuit cake has to be marshmallow, biscuit (obviously), and optional addition of crunchie bar! Oooh, and milk choc only!

    Arctic pie

Homemade ice cream is hard to beat.

But homemade white chocolate cheesecake trumps everything.

Rhubarb crumble. With either ice-cream, cream or custard. Or all three. ;)

Not massively arsed with chocolately desserts, love fruity, pastry-ish ones.

I couldn't agree less - fruity desserts are the best. Gawd, that fruity syrup that forms. Drool.

Banoffe Pie or Pavlova, both amazingly good when done right.

One of these days I'm going to make a Key Lime Pie, Mueller used to have a corner yogurt that was Key lime pie flavour when I was younger and they were amazing so I hope the pie isn't a let down.

Also I only had Baked Alaska once, I don't even remember what it tasted like buy I remember it was really good so I must make that as well to see if my memory serves me right.

    God dammit I love desserts!

Bread and butter pudding (Jamie Oliver has an amazing recipe, but it's literally a heart attack in a bowl)

Mince pies that my mum makes, with custard

Yummy upside down apple pie they serve in a tiny seaside town in Spain called tamariu. I'd move there just for the pie....
