    Hi all

I am a recent convert to listening to podcasts.

I've had a look at the RTE site, the BBC sites and the iTunes
system. I've found them poorly laid out and confusing to use.

I would like to find some nice ones to listen to, does anyone
know where I could look. Things like biographies or travel
    or interesting stories.

Just to clarifiy, I am only talking about legal podcasts and not
illegally downloaded copyright content, like commercial audiobooks.

So let's not post up links or info about this kind of thing, as it will
only cause the moderators to have to close the thread.

    Happy listening :)

I like the BBC Desert Island Discs archive

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/features/desert-island-discs/find-a-castaway

Most of the shows are availiable to download for free (without the music), and you can search for the guest you want from their extensive catalogue.

A huge number of shows available (it is one of the longest running programmes in the World).

+1 for BBC's Desert Island Discs

I love to listen to Desert Island Discs, particularly late at night in bed, they're very relaxing.

The DID archive is a treasure trove of great interviews involving people from all walks of life - writers, politicians, scientists, business leaders, musicians, actors, comedians, sports people, dancers, TV personalities etc. In addition to the chat you get a nice little introduction to the music that means most to them.

Here's a thread over in Podcasts about people's favourites. Might give you some ideas.

If you're looking for interesting stories look no further than 'This American Life'.

    http://www.thisamericanlife.org/

Simply one of the best radio shows around...I listen to them via Soundcloud.com but they can be downloaded from iTunes or directly via their website.
