Teenager & Prozac

23-05-2013 7:24am#1Our 14yr old daughter was recently diagnosed with social anxiety & depression and after a few counselling sessions she was prescribed Prozac.
Now, first off, I have to say that the Family Services have been brilliant, we've received fantastic support from them.
Now it seems that the Prozac has sparked off an entirely new behavioural pattern.
She has become totally uncommunicative, her behaviour has become erratic, she says she's hearing voices and hallucinating.
This started after her counselling sessions on Wednesday, we took her back to them on Thursday & they were completely shocked at the turn around.
They don't think that's its connected to the Prozac, but it seems to co-incidental that this radical behavioural shift occurred within a week of her starting the meds.
Has anyone come across such side effects with Prozac before?
Apologies for the long winded post
Oh, and I'm not trying to second guess the counsellors by any means.
