Recruitment agency Interviews?

    Hi all,

I recently applied for an admin job I saw on a recruitment agency's site (Hays) which I got a callback for. I did their word, excel and WPM test and they called me again to come in for an interview.

I've done job interviews before, but this is my first time going through with a recruitment agency.

Any ideas on what should I expect? They asked me to bring in my passport and proof of PPS number also.

    Cheers.

    Hi ironictoaster,

I have a similar test/interview coming up and would love to hear how you go on? Any advice?

    Thanks

To be honest it's not a real interview in the true sense. Really they want to meet with you, see how you present yourself, get you to go through your cv and see how well you can speak for yourself and sell yourself. They want to get a feel for you before sending you out for 'real' interviews. So make sure you look nice and smart, know your cv really well, make sure you draw their attention to skills/ accomplishments/ awards/ qualifications you have. Sell yourself to them. Be friendly and open but professional. If you make a good impression they will be more likely to put you forward for real interviews or temp assignments.

    Good luck to you both.

Interviews are very informal. Generally they just want you to expand on your c.v. explain exactly what type of work you are looking for, where you would be willing to work, salary range etc... Haven't heard much about Hays but in the world of recruitment no news is good news.

Know how to use the basics of word and excel, and be a quick typer.

Also know how to google something if you're not sure.

They're really just making sure you're not technically illiterate.
