Ok so I started watching Borgia on Netflix and just found out there is another show called The Borgias dealing with the exact same people at the exact same time. People online seem to say that The Borgias is better but I'm really enjoying Borgia after 3 episodes. I don't want to waste my time with either of them so is there any opinions either way on them?

I haven't seen the more famous one with Jeremy Irons, but I've seen the other one which I thought was quite good. A great reason to watch that one is for the gorgeous Marta Gastini:

I've been watching Borgia about six or seven episodes in.
    **massive spoiler**
    only kidding, aren't I hilarious!

Talking to someone who has got a bit into both, he has said that "Borgia > The Borgias as it sticks more to the historical truth or the story as opposed to drama for the sake of it", he's quite a fan of this period of history so will take his word on it. Plus Borgia is done by the guys who did The Wire so that in itself is good enough reason to stick with it in my eyes.

Let me know if you watch the other one and what you think of it.

I like both very much. but the non Jeremy Irons one of much faster paced, gorier, and has more sex and violence. The sons in this one are nuts and their actions seem to go against Rodrigo.I think both sites are grea, but the non Jeremy one is a lot more exciting.

I watched several episodes of The Borgias and really tried to like it. I just couldn't get past the fact that it was unbelievably, suffocatingly, boring so gave up. Have the first season of Borgia now so will give it a go in the next while; reviews seems to suggest it is more 'political', which sounds good to me.

I watched The Borgias with Jeremy Irons for a year and a bit but I found it seriously dull, boring plots, very phoney and with miscast actors.

I'd really like to see Borgia, pity it isn't on any TV channels.

I watched Borgia right up until the moment Rawls opened his mouth. I just can't handle American accents in period drama.

If you are watching the show because it's from the guys behind the Wire then you really shouldn't bother considering that they have nothing to do with it. Tom Fontana who created Oz is the man behind it.

I was initially the same but I worked my way through it. By the middle of episode 1 I'd ceased to notice because other than that he is fantastic in the role.
