The Priest himself has described it as an act of solidarity, even if nothing comes of it.

Obviously the public are pretty helpless in the current crisis, all that's happening here is coming together to show their community spirit in their own particular way. It wouldn't be something I'd do, but let them at it. Who cares?

I don't see the problem, some religions dance for rain, evidently Christians in Ireland pray for sunshine. Mass is broadcast the whole time on national TV and Radio anyway.

That's nothing. Two or three years ago the governor of Texas rented out a large stadium, using state funds, in order to get thousands of people together to pray for a change in the weather. And they had absolutely tons of sun for weeks afterwards.









Though, of course, they were praying for rain at the time.
