As long as it's not state funded let them do what they like, silly as it is.

Obligatory "Is there anything to be said for saying another mass" reply

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,295 ✭✭✭✭Duggy747

I like how the article suddenly switches to Stenna Lines offering reductions of up to 20pc to hauliers importing fodder.

Anyways, broadcasting Mass isn't a new thing for MW Radio.

Why can't we just sacrifice a goat, chant in Irish and have an orgy afterwards?

    Good on them.

Anything that annoys the boring fanatical anti religion brigade* is fine by me.

    *I'm not religious.

The Priest himself has described it as an act of solidarity, even if nothing comes of it.

Obviously the public are pretty helpless in the current crisis, all that's happening here is coming together to show their community spirit in their own particular way. It wouldn't be something I'd do, but let them at it. Who cares?

So a priest is basically telling people praying may not do anything, least he'll admit it :pac:

We make a big scarecrow type figure out of wood and burn someone inside it.

I don't see the problem, some religions dance for rain, evidently Christians in Ireland pray for sunshine. Mass is broadcast the whole time on national TV and Radio anyway.

Note: I am in no way religious.

That's nothing. Two or three years ago the governor of Texas rented out a large stadium, using state funds, in order to get thousands of people together to pray for a change in the weather. And they had absolutely tons of sun for weeks afterwards.

Though, of course, they were praying for rain at the time.

Keep saying it till the weather gets better and then they'll know for sure that God exists! Not that anyone would be foolish enough to doubt his existence or anything.
