Tried several times to get a lease myself but was unsuccessful every time.
Ask many lads who have leases ( some of them have many of them ) but never got a straight answer.

from the info i gathered , a lease offering let's say 2 red stags and 3 hinds will have 5 guns on it and can be got for around €2500 for the lease holder ( only an estimate ) . You as a stalker will end up paying €600 or more. I guess it depends on location .
In theory you can only shoot 2 stags since the cull is 2 so it is unfair really since 5 stalkers will aim to shot a stag. But practically how many are shot ?

I would think it is cheaper for fallows.

Anyway it is a grey area.

That's 500 euro per animal. Think I might cease enquiring :-)

even with out paying for a caoilte lease, if you were to weigh up what it cost in your time, diesal, guns 'n ammo and other shooting paraphernalia, it usually works out cheaper to buy your venison.

the passion is hunting, everything else is a bonus.

Agree, I suppose the point I was making was that would make it unaffordable for me.

Fair play tawny owl. It would be a great learning curve for me before my first season. Hopefully it works out

Careful lads the OP was offering places in Tipp / Waterford so I think we should leave it at that and hope he or she gets the offers needed.
