Hi there I'm planning a trip down to Shannon to do some spotting soon and am wondering what to expect in the way of military traffic. On average how often do military flights land in Shannon each day? Any answers would be much appreciated.

Varies on a day to day basis..

Place is nearly dead to what it used to be a few years ago regarding military flights.

Most days you will see the Omni's (757, 767 or a 777). They have retired their DC10's
Some days 1 or 2 c130's may pass through.
The odd time you may see a c9 skytrain, seen it twice out of 3/4 times i have been there. But, that was a few months apart and kind of lucky to see.
May also get the odd C-37B (G550), seen it a few times too.
C32's(757) and the C40's (737-700) stop there too for fuel, but its rare enough also.

Extremely rare to get c17's, kc135's, and other types like this.

    Hope it helps.

Did you get over to Shannon in the end OP, any luck?. I plan on heading to Shannon next week in the hope of seeing military plane or two. I went plane spotting at Dublin Airport a couple of years ago and had great craic.

I did indeed head down but it was for the Antonov, saw no military aircraft but it was worth the trip :)
